Shiv Nadar Commemorated For Contribution In Tech And Philanthropy

The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), a bilateral non-profit, recently honored Shiv Nadar, HCL Founder, with a Lifetime Achievement Award 2022 for his contribution to the technology industry and philanthropy. The Shiv Nadar Foundation, run by Shiv Nadar, has contributed $1.1 billion to charitable endeavors, mostly in the field of education. According to the USISPF, HCL has led the field in IT services for more than 45 years and has been at the vanguard of the technological revolution since 1976.

Shiv Nadar founded the Shiv Nadar Foundation in 1994. The Foundation is dedicated to bridging the socioeconomic gap by empowering people via transformational education and fostering the development of a more just and merit-based society. The Foundation has built organizations and initiatives in India’s underserved fields of art and education in both rural and urban areas. Shiv Nadar Foundation builds educational models that are sustainable, scalable, and repeatable across geographies and communities. With sustainability as the cornerstone of all endeavours, the Foundation creates institutions that focus on removing the rural-urban divide.

The Shiv Nadar Foundation follows the “Creative Philanthropy” ideology. It is an effective paradigm that envisions the establishment of organizations that carry out impactful work well into the future. It is a strategy that enables sustained institutionalized philanthropy for socioeconomic reform for the long haul.

The Foundation has helped foster various deserving students from marginalized communities who are now pursuing their passions in India and overseas. By encouraging promising leaders and providing education in rural India, the VidyaGyan program of the Foundation seeks to close the gap between urban and rural India. VidyaGyan, a Foundation for children, ensures that at-risk children receive a world-class education for free from grades 6th to 12th.

Shiksha Initiative by Shiv Nadar Foundation uses ICT-based interventions to fight illiteracy. Adult literacy intervention is the main emphasis of the SHIKSHA program for uneducated rural adults. SSN institutions, which also happens to be the first-ever SNF initiative, continue to make significant advancements in the sphere of higher education and are consistently listed among the top 10 private engineering institutions in India.

The Shiv Nadar Foundation is making great strides in making the world a better place for talented and gifted younger generations. Visit this website www.shivnadarfoundation.org to learn more about SNF’s other philanthropic works.
