When Narendran Mohana Sundaram decided to pursue higher education, he found that there was no shortage of options for him. He had a track record of good grades and was supported by his family in all his decisions. At the end of it, he chose to join SSN College of Engineering.

According to Narendran, it was thanks to the institute’s promoters, who were in constant touch with the students, that he developed the confidence to pursue his engineering at the SSN College of Engineering.

Founded by Shiv Nadar, the chairman of HCL Technologies, in 1996, the SSN College of Engineering, has risen to be one of the top institutes in India, striving to revolutionise education, by introducing and encouraging interdisciplinary endeavours and leadership qualities among its students.

For Narendran, the SSN journey went much beyond academics. His time at SSN helped him forge a stronger connect with the HCL family, and after graduating in 1999, he joined the company as a data analyst and worked there for almost a decade.

Today, Narendran has worked in the field of data analytics for over 20 years and led teams in countries across the world, including the US, Mexico and India.

With his invaluable experience, he is now back in the country, and is trying to make a substantial difference through technology⁠—a goal he says was inspired by SSN.

“SSN had a culture of taking ownership, of doing. My personality, my character, my values were formed there,” he concludes.
